Weekly roundup - Stadia gets its first free to play game!

We've had a pretty solid week of news so far, but the Stadia team didn't seem to stop just yet!
On the newest blogpost they announced some pretty cool stuff.

I'll jump right into it, the biggest one in my opinion, last week the Stadia team announced Destiny 2 would be leaving Stadia Pro on November 19,
apparently this had a good reason, because Destiny 2 is going free 2 play on that same day!

Free games!

This mean you'll be able to experience the Destiny 2 core game for free, even without Stadia Pro.
Do keep in mind, this is only the core experience of Destiny.
I still think this is an amazing way of giving everyone a true way of fully trying out the platform.

That is not the only free game for this week, because Crayta is claimable for free as well, and no this doesn't count as a Pro game!
You'll be able to claim Crayta Premium Edition for free without Pro and Crayta Deluxe Edition for free with Pro.
Those are deals by the way, so they will be yours forever, so make sure to pick it up!
I also recommend trying it out, since Crayta is an amazing game with lots of content.

More games

  • The Immortals: Fenyx Rising demo is back and will stay until December 21
  • Ghost Recon: Wildlands will release on Stadia on November 19
  • PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle is available now on Stadia for €19,99 or $19,99

Features dropping

Over the past week we've seen quite some feature drops. Last week they started with Family Sharing,
which is now fully functional, and not long after they sort of reworked the profiles on Stadia.
You'll now have an actual profile page that shows your games, progress, achievements and friends list (if you enable those things in privacy settings)

A few days after, we got word from Italian Stadians that messaging was showing up for them, a few days back this also got rolled out globally.
This was not all though, we also got capture sharing. This allows you to capture something and share this directly from the app or web and will give you a specific Stadia link for it.

Rumours and leaks

We've also had a fair amount of Rumours and leaks:It looks like Stadia Might be rolling out to other countries soon,
as several users have discovered languages being added to translations and the TOS being available in those same new languages as well.
This is not just only a translation, but one user also noted that on the new Portuguese translation, it also shows their local tax.
The list of new rumoured countries:

  • Portugal
  • Poland
  • Hungary
  • Czechia
  • Romania
  • Slovakia
  • Switzerland

There has also been a recent leak from Capcom, suggesting Google has paid $10 million to bring RE7 and RE Village to Stadia.
Duncan (One2escape) later pretty much "confirmed" this leak was true after some more research, also adding Monster Hunter was mentioned as well.

Assassin's Creed: Origins has also received a ESBR rating, but was surprisingly not mentioned. But I do think its fair to assume that one will launch very soon as well.

So keep an eye out for that one.

That was pretty much all the news for the last week.
